The principals of two North Jersey real estate companies have joined forces to create a property management firm to provide services to retail, commercial and industrial landlords in New Jersey and New York.

Corestone Management is a partnership between Alan Goldstein, chairman of The Goldstein Group, a leading retail real estate brokerage firm in Paramus, and Andrew Abramson, president and chief executive of Value Companies, a Clifton-based apartment developer and owner as well as a property management firm.

The Goldstein Group has been involved in some of the major retail leasing deals in Paramus and other retail corridors in North Jersey.

Value Companies manages primarily residential properties, including over 3,000 multi-family apartment units in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

Both companies will maintain their separate identities and their existing offices while also pursuing joint ventures through the newly created Corestone, the principals said.

"This is a new entity using the expertise of Value and the expertise of Goldstein to get into the commercial property arena," Abramson said in a phone interview.

"In conjunction with The Goldstein Group, one of the larger retail commercial brokers in the Northern New Jersey area, we now have access to a viable market" and the ability to expand beyond residential management, he said.

The new firm, Goldstein and Abramson said, will fill a void in the market by providing advisory services and asset management.

Corestone, Abramson said, will give landlords the advantages of both Value's expertise in property management and The Goldstein Group's leasing skills to market and reposition properties, and to attract new tenants.

Goldstein said there is high demand by landlords who are "actively looking to outsource the management of their properties."

"Our clients have expressed strong interest in a company that could offer all the services they need under one umbrella," Goldstein said.
