Iseman is taking over for Steve Popper, who is moving into a new role aslead sports columnist for The Record and NorthJersey.com, beginning Feb. 11.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to cover the Knicks for The Record and NorthJersey.com,” Iseman said. “My goal is to provide readers with unique analysis and insight, and to give a glimpse of what covering the team is like, both at Madison Square Garden and on the road. The Knicks have incredibly passionate and intelligent fans, and I’m looking forward to engaging with them.”

“Chris has been an outstanding contributor since joining our newsroom almost five years ago, and he’s going to do a tremendous job of covering the Knicks,” said Rick Green, editor and vice-president of content.

“He’s a very strong writer who is curious, analytical and thinks like a basketball fan. He will add to the momentum Steve provided for several years as the Knicks writer,” said Green. “Chris is an up-and-comer in our business; someone with a very bright future. I look forward to his work and his efforts to engage with Knicks fans on all platforms, especially in the digital space.”

Iseman joined The Record and NorthJersey.com’s sports department in 2013 shortly after graduating from Syracuse University. He has covered high school sports, Major League Baseball, the NFL, NBA, Major League Soccer, college basketball and professional golf. He also assisted in covering the New York Mets’ run to the World Series in 2015 and the Yankees’ postseason run in 2017.

Before joining The Record and NorthJersey.com, Iseman wrote for MLB.com, LoHud.com/The Journal News and the Associated Press.
