Mega Millions winning numbers for Friday, Jan. 31; New Jersey ticket wins $1 million

Although there was no winner of Friday's Mega Millions, a $1 million ticket was sold at a QuickChek store on Main Avenue in Passaic.

A $10,000 ticket was sold at a gas station mart at 1440 Route 23 in Wayne.

In addition, players in California and North Carolina matched all five white balls to win $1 million. One ticket in Texas is worth $2 million because of the Megaplier.

The Mega Millions winning numbers for Jan. 31, 2020, were: 

28 - 31 - 33 - 57 - 62 and Megaball 19

The jackpot was an estimated $155 million, with a cash option of $108.3 million, according to the Mega Millions website

The Mega Millions jackpot will rise to $168 million for Tuesday's drawing, with a cash option of $118.8 million.

Meanwhile, the Powerball jackpot was reset to $40 million after a ticket sold in Florida won the $396.9 million jackpot, according to the Powerball website

Until recently, lottery winners in New Jersey were required to be identified, but now winners will be able to stay anonymous under a new law that was signed by Gov. Phil Murphy.
